I am all about being green and eco friendly, but man, this article is just ghoulish :<}
Sigh...Kermit will tell you "It's not easy being green"
Main Liners can now be eco-friendly even in death
By Richard Ilgenfritz
It may not be the first place families look to in their quest to be eco-friendly, but now it can be the last.Officials at West Laurel Hill Cemetery and Bringhurst Funeral Home in Bala Cynwyd announced that they are offering green funeral services with the dedication of a three-acre section of cemetery called Nature's Sanctuary. The new eco-friendly final resting place will have special restrictions on how someone can be buried.
"This is allowing families to go back to the way things were done up until about 150 years ago," said Nevin Mann, CEO and president of Bringhurst Funeral Home at West Laurel Hill Cemetery.
According to Mann, bodies buried in the Nature's Sanctuary section of the cemetery will be prohibited from being embalmed and will be placed directly in the ground with either an untreated wood coffin or wrapped in a biodegradable shroud.
