Armed Robbery in Bryn Mawr...add it to the growing list along the Main Line?

MainLineThoughts's picture

Another armed robbery on the Main Line? Yep, it's true. This time it was the restaurant Tango at the Bryn Mawr Train Station. Is this another "sign of the times"?

After all, it was only about a couple weeks ago ago when the Sunoco was robbed in Wayne? Or was it twice in Wayne since this time they hit the OTHER Sunoco across the street on the same side as St Katherine of Sienna? Do I have that flip flopped? Was that one first and the other one second?

Radnor Township, following the example of Haverford Township in being more open with citizens is posting these things on their police department pages of their website, making Lower Merion the only one to not really follow suit? Anyway, here's what is up on the Radnor site - and further note that not ALL alerts are excerpted here, just the ones that pertain to the gas station incidents, and one that must be kind of recent at the McDonalds, and would that be the McDonalds on Lancaster next to the church and in front of Rosemont Train Station in Strafford, PA?

This sure makes you wonder about businesses that are open 24/7, huh? At botton is Tango incident, and please note Tango is a very nice restaurant with normal hours in the heart of Bryn Mawr.

Are you sure that it wasn't the Mickie D's in Stratford? Be strange for Radnor to respond to a Lower Merion place, especially since the dispatch is by county.

ahhhhh....am not fast food afficianado, so I forgot about that one. Will correct the error. You know, this further lends itself to the argument that 24/7 businesses are problematic.

Crime can happen at any time but certainly is more likely when the exposure is low. The case is that the victims in each case were employees which although unfortunate for them is fortunate for the customers. That being said, the 24 hour business brings criminal "traffic" into the area and that increases the liklihood of secondary targets (our homes).
