Development in Newtown Square

This Ellis School/Ellis Preserve is a whopper of a mixed use project in Newtown Square. I thought it was all approved and moving forward, but then I came across this and found it interesting:

Nearly 40 Newtown Square residents showed up Thursday at the Knights of Columbus Hall for a discussion of traffic and tax issues related to development of a town center proposed for the intersection of Routes 3 and 252. The meeting was organized by Andrew Semeister, president of Individuals Concerned 4 Newtown Square (IC4NS). None of the supervisors attended....The proposed "Ellis Preserve" Town Center, as it is known, has been the center of a sometimes bitter four-year battle by developers Berwind Properties Group (BPG) to gain the necessary three out of five votes from township supervisors to permit the extraordinary zoning changes required for implementation of the 1,798,000-square foot "New Urbanism" project.

The idea of residents doing their own studies is a very good idea, because everyone knows with traffic studies, it's all subjective.....
